How My Five Year Mission Came to Be…

During the five years that followed I literally read over three dozen nutrition books, all types of clinical studies, and spent thousands of hours in the kitchen experimenting with new ingredients to create healthier versions of the most popular meals that my family enjoys.

I first heard this fact in 2005, the year that I became a parent with the birth of my son, Andrew. Learning this fact, as I held my tiny little bundle, awakened a fire within me to do whatever I could to protect him from the fate of a shortened life riddled with health issues that plagued this new generation of children.
The doctors and researchers were all pointing to childhood obesity as the problem, so I spent months reading book after book on the subject. What I discovered was that, while exercise does play a part in obesity prevention, the major issue at hand is nutrition. In fact, that’s the single biggest determining factor as it relates to obesity in children.
